Processing Pain Safely, at the Pace of Your Nervous System
Trauma is not just an event from the past—it is an ongoing physiological imprint held within the nervous system. Healing does not require being re-flooded by unresolved memories. Together, we build stability, restore somatic boundaries, and gently unpack painful chapters with dignity.
Redefining Trauma: Beyond the Single Event
When we think of trauma, we often picture overt, catastrophic crises. Yet profound distress frequently stems from relational and developmental injuries: growing up in an emotionally unpredictable environment, chronic systemic marginalization, migration stress, or feeling unseen across formative years.
These experiences teach your system that vigilance equals safety. You may find yourself living in persistent fight-or-flight, emotionally shutting down when conflict arises, or wrestling with an inner critic that never permits rest. In my clinical work, these are recognized not as flaws, but as adaptive survival strategies that have simply outlived their original utility.
An Integrative, Multi-Modality Framework
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Meeting your protective parts, hyper-vigilant defenders, and wounded inner experiences with genuine curiosity rather than judgment.
Somatic Regulation
Cultivating physical grounding practices to expand your window of tolerance, calming heart-rate spikes and chronic muscular tension.
Cultural & Systemic Safety
Honouring the direct mental health impacts of immigration, racialization, generational obligations, and complex spiritual dynamics.
Pacing, Consent, and Clinical Safety First
In my practice, you will never be pressured to recount stories before you feel internally grounded enough to hold them. Pacing is paramount. We focus first on resourcing: ensuring you have concrete somatic anchors and relational trust before processing deeper experiences.
As a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), I maintain a trauma-informed and culturally grounded practice. We work collaboratively to unburden lingering self-blame, cultivate radical self-compassion, and help you return home to your body.
Virtual & In-Person Care Across Ontario
I provide trauma counselling online across Ontario through a secure, encrypted healthcare platform, as well as in-person sessions at my office in Downtown Toronto.
Services provided by a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) are eligible for full or partial reimbursement through most extended health insurance policies in Ontario.
